I had to wait for a while before my seats were finished. The front seats come out of an Opel Corsa. The rear seat is the original one. The door panels I did myself and I'm happy with the result.

Some last adjustments had to be done by the local garage. As I did not have a licenceplate for the beetle I had to use a trailer.

All done, time to go to the Dutch RDW. The Super was imported from Germany so the Dutch RDW had to do a check before I could become a licenseplate. No remarks on my Super besides a compliment for the condition the beetle was in. :-D

The adjustable struts didn't meet my standards. I replaced them by original struts, but with other springs. The 15” Empi wheels had some minor damage too. The bolt pattern 4x130 was replaced by discs and drums with 5x130 and the Empi wheels were replaced by 16" Porsche Boxster wheels.

This is how my Super looks today:

Within a week the Super needs a Periodic Exam to stay on the road. Today I did check it myself. I found out that the left front tire had hit the chassis lightly. No damage on the tire it self. I rotated the bolt of the steering gearbox some more so the tire can not hit the chassis anymore.

I wanted to take of the wheels, but the nuts were tightened very strong. So strong, even a wheel lock nut got broken. There was only one solution: Go the the local garage near by to get them lose.

As you can see the wheel lock nuts and the wheel lock key did not survive this. And no, it was not me who had tightened the wheels this strong. Luckily I had a set of wheel lock nuts already for the splity, so I used those for the beetle. Our youngest daughter did the final check and she says the Super is oké!
