With the parts from bugat5speed the gearbox fits better. It is not as far up front as a beetle or splitbus gearbox. It is 1.5cm more to the back, but that will not cause any problem fitting the type 4 engine. I know it looks similar, but there is a big difference. :-)

The transmission flanges needed some adjustments too. Porsche 914 CV's are bolt with only four bolts, I want six of them. It should fit the constant velocity joint precisely, so it is an adjustment which took all of my concentration.

Mission accomplished. 8-)

At front there was some technical stuff to do. On the next pictures it clearly shows the differents between dropped spindles and stock spindles. I 'm going lo lower the splitbus and when I do not mount dropped spindles the wheel is going to be more at the front. Besides it is not good looking, it is also not good for the steering pin in the beam.

First picture is the position of the wheel with stock spindles, second is with the position when mounting dropped spindles.

Remember the bear metal in the gearbox compartment? I did put on some blue paint there. And just to show you the changes, I put a 'before picture' next to it.
